Overview

As a digital graphic designer, you’ll be a critical piece of helping us tell our powerful brand story to the world by shaping the future evolution of the key SelectQuote domains (selectquote.com, selectquoteautoandhome.com and selectquotesenior.com) on desktop and mobile to support our multimillion dollar lead generation campaigns. With deep passion and empathy for the customer and business, you will help deliver a more compelling customer journey, by providing design innovation and creativity to a wide variety of advertising and marketing communications projects for customer acquisition, sales support and lead nurturing. Focusing on lead form and website experience optimizations, you’ll work closely with our Senior Director, Growth and Experimentation and the Senior Director for Branding and Creative Services. This position will report to the Creative Manager in our Leawood, KS office (relocating to a new office space in Overland Park, KS in September.)

 

While the primary focus is supporting the website and landing page tests we run continuously, you will also help elevate the overall quality of marketing communications and product experiences of SelectQuote.  We are considering candidates with a strong web/digital design background that are hands on that can execute ideas across all mediums; video, mobile, social, email, etc. DRTV and radio experience are a plus. This requires a strong creative aesthetic and excellent persuasive communication skills. 

Responsibilities

  • Concept, design, and evolve SelectQuote’s lead generation experiences on desktop and mobile in support of continual A/B and multivariate testing initiatives
  • Guide teams of developers to ensure final products are delightful user experiences.
  • Design usable tools when needed, in multiple platforms that consumers will want to interact with. 
  • Design mood boards, storyboards, interactive page layouts, site grids, interface demos, and photo retouching and enhancements. 
  • Participate in brainstorming and other idea-generating team sessions. 
  • Create strong graphic layouts based on concepts provided by the Creative Manager and Senior Director of Branding and Creative Services.
  • Regularly review internal and competitor designs and trends, applying best practices and learnings toward developing new design ideas.
  • Help ensure consistency with brand and visual identity guidelines and ensure that all advertising and marketing materials in multiple mediums are in alignment
  • Be a source of inspiration. Collaborate with marketing team and others to shepherd the SQ brand forward.
  • Maintain high-quality design and presentation deliverables. 
  • Self-starter who can multi-task and work efficiently under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest web trends, techniques and technologies.
  • Some travel to San Francisco and possibly other SelectQuote office locations

 

Qualifications

  • Customer focused, with experience uncovering customer insights through cutting edge research methods.
  • Understands the technical requirements and best practices associated with rich media, email & online marketing and responsive web design.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc. along with other web design tools and protoyping tools such as Sketch and Invision.
  • Familiarity with video editing software such as After Effects or Final Cut/Adobe Premiere and development languages such as html, CSS and javascript also a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to demonstrate a collaborative approach with other designers, marketing team members, web developers, sales agents, and the senior leadership team. 
  • Ease in working under pressure with tight deadlines and managing multiple projects at once.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with strong visual design skills, layout, typography and strict brand guidelines.

Training and Experience

  • 5+ years of graphic design experience
  • BS or BA degree in Graphic Design or related field.
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates expertise across a variety of design mediums.
  • Web UX experience
