Security Solution Engineer

The Security Engineer will play a key role in ensuring data and system integrity through implementation and adherence of industry security standards. This person is responsible for implementing aspects of cybersecurity services and strategies. This person will evaluate security products already in use and propose new solutions through analysis of the individual products and integrations. Work with other team members to define and design future state specifications, input/output processes and work parameters for IT solution compatibilities.


  • Develops, communicates and trains others on security standards and procedures
  • Develops and maintains concise documentation related to responsibilities
  • Knowledge of risk assessment tools, technologies and methods
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery, computer forensic tools, technologies and methods
  • Ability to communicate network security issues to peers and management
  • Contributes to systems incident response and event handling
  • Knowledge with managing endpoint and server protection technology such as anti-malware, whitelisting, and vulnerability management tools
  • Work closely with TechOps and DevOps to enhance security without impacting productivity
  • Researches and recommends new security technology capabilities and their applicability within the greater organization
  • Participate in audit-related activities
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Knowledgeable and able to perform in multiple Information Security areas and competencies
  • PCI DDS, HIPAA experience & NIST\ISO 27001 Compliance experience preferred
  • Experience with a SIEM or UTM product
  • Excellent analytical skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Direct experience with anti-virus software, intrusion detection, firewalls and content filtering

Training and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of experience as a Security Network Engineer, Technology Consultant, System Engineer or similar role
  • CISSP, OSCP, Security+, or other industry certification preferred
  • Experience designing secure networks, systems and application architectures
  • Experience planning, researching and developing security policies, standards and procedures
