  • Overview

    This position is a sales position in which the employee’s primary responsibility is to sell term life insurance. The position focuses on different types of sales attributes: written, verbal and organizational skills, overcoming sales objections, competitive analysis, ability to understand the underwriting process, and learn and master SelectQuote’s processes and procedures.


    • Receive inbound calls (ACD) or place outbound (web lead) calls to potential customers
    • Sell customers life insurance policies and begin the application process
    • Counsel clients with regard to their life insurance needs
    • Follow up with customers after the initial call has been made
    • Once the sale has been made, the agent is responsible for making sure that the policy goes InForce
    • Perform all case management which includes encouraging clients to send in their applications, dealing with issues that arise in underwriting, re-selling the case if the client has been offered a more expensive rate, and finally making sure that all requirements are sent in so the policy will be placed in InForce.
    • Handle CRI applications (traditional applications where the medical exam has been done but the application is not in)
    • Responsible for SUB cases (the medical exam has not been scheduled)
    • Follow up with ARS cases (traditional applications where the medical exam has not been scheduled)
    • Place all OFR (offer) calls
    • Place DEL calls (the application process has not been completed and it is over 7 weeks late)
    • Maintain all case management requirements

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Occasionally help train new Sales Agents in calls and SQ procedures



    •    Ability to do competitive analysis to overcome sales objections

    Training and Experience

    • High school diploma or GED is required
    • Bachelor degree required, with Masters degree desirable
    • Life Insurance License is a plus
