• Data Scientist II

  • Overview

    The Data Scientist II role is key to the success of our Data Science team. They will be responsible for creating new models and finding key insights in our sales data to maximize sales and profits for our business by allowing the business to prioritize the most valuable sales opportunities using historical data analysis. Both predictive and regression analysis will be performed using combinations of statistical modeling, linear and logistic regression, along with machine learning modeling, decision trees and neural networks.


    • Contribute to and own data research tasks
    • Identify statistical models to represent the given data set
    • Convert statistical models into actual algorithms to be used in supervised/unsupervised learning
    • Build bleeding edge technical solutions on machine learning and/or deep learning
    • Identify ways to improve the current machine learning algorithms by researching the statistical significance of additional variables
    • Design and develop software directly from business specifications and requirements
    • Create estimates and work breakdown structures across assigned development tasks
    • Other projects and responsibilities as assigned


    • Able to quickly build new models using R or Python and SQL to retrieve datasets
    • Strong understanding of advanced mathematical and/or statistical concepts
    • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to explain complex technical information to technical and non-technical contacts
    • Strong or developing interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively build relationships, promote a collaborative team environment, and influence others

    Training and Experience

    • Relevant bachelor’s or higher degree in the fields of Math, Statistics, or Economics is required.
    • 2 – 4 years of relevant professional work experience in a data scientist or data analyst role using data science or machine learning modeling techniques is required.
